I’d spent the past week searching through countless styles and types of invitations. I was seeing invitations in my sleep, constantly thinking about them and found myself talking about nothing else. At first my best friend Lisa had asked me to look for dark invitations and I was shocked. For a girl like Lisa to say she wanted something black at her wedding, something black anywhere, it wasn’t her idea. I knew that she was trying to theme her wedding to interest her fiance. I felt incredibly sorry for her and the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to tell her to leave him. I bit my tongue on more than one occasion, she seemed to love him. I just wanted her to be happy, but I had to be careful of crossing the line.

I had compiled a folder of example Black and White Wedding Invitations, taking her ‘dark coloured’ request into consideration but countering it with some lovely lacey whites. I knew that black wasn’t the colour she wanted for her invitations, I just had to show her what else was out there. After the week was over, I gathered all my things together and headed over to Lisa’s house. She was interested to see what I’d come up with and I was nervous to show her. I didn’t want to let her down. I had a lot of Modern Wedding Invitations that I thought she would like. When I sat down on Lisa’s couch and put the folder on the table, I told her that there was a lot of different styles, including Designer Wedding Invitations. I also told her that I wanted to show her a wide variety of what was out there so she could have the perfect invitations for her wedding.
